Faithie is the full
time companion and mistress of the home of David and Marion Gustafson,
Burnsville. Faithie is often pictured in the newsletter and is frequently
written about in the editor’s column. We believe that she loves Lincolns,
and would probably buy and drive one if she could. At least, we know that
she enjoys riding in them, every chance she can.
Faithie came to live
with us from Jim and Celinda Cheskawich, Woodland, Washington at the end of
December, 2004. She is a retired champion and mother, who now enjoys a life
of leisure at our home. Faithie received her championship before she was
one year old. She has always done well in the show ring and has done well
as a mother too. Her two litters of pups produced 13, some of which are
also now champs. She loves people and most other dogs and loves to be with
her “mom and dad”. She loves to greet people with big wet doggy kisses.
She will go for the lips and get you every time if you are not careful.

Samoyeds are known for
their striking beauty. Their coat can be either all white or a mix of white
and buff, looks best when clean and fully brushed out. They are a high
maintenance breed, they require frequent brushing to keep their good looks.
The breed originally came from Northern Russia and was used principally for
herding reindeer and elk and also for pulling sleds. They have unbelievable
endurance, and though not as fast as Malamutes and Siberians, can travel
further distances.
On December 11th, 2013,
we had to say good by to our beloved Sweet Faithie.
She has lived with us since December 26th, 2004, coming to us from
Jim Cheskawich in Woodland, Washington.
She was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2000 to Ch. Trilogy’s
Blame It On El Nino “Amigo” and Ch. D’Keta’s Purple Reign CGC “Seattle” and
lived to 13 years and nine months.
She made her championship early in life and went on to be a very good
mother to 13 puppies. In the
past 5 months or so, she was experiencing more difficulty with getting up
from a resting position. Then on
Wednesday, the 11th, it finally came to the point where she just couldn’t
get up anymore. Our Vet said
there was an issue with muscle wasting and there was not a viable treatment
option for her. It was best for
her not to continue further discomfort and pain and let her cross over the
Rainbow Bridge to rejoin her mother Seattle and her siblings once again.
She will be missed terribly by us and the many people that she met
along her life’s journey. She
lived a full life, and her excellent bloodlines will continue into the
future. We want to thank Jim
Cheskawich for allowing us to adopt Sweet Faithie (Ch. D'Keta's Teal Faith
Reigns) and providing us with nine years of joy and companionship.
Rest well, Sweet Faithie, you have done your best each and every day.
